Sabur

Every place in the world has some kind of uniqueness to it. Sarajevo is not as beautiful and modern as some famous cities, but it has a certain charm. A newcomer can see the whole city in a couple of days, take some photographs, taste the food. What a newcomer cannot see in a couple of days is something I like most about my hometown. There is no hurry and stress. People live slowly without worrying even when there is so much to worry about. There is no Western, Wall Street kind of life. If there is too much to deal with in one day, we locals just go and have a Turkish coffee and let off steam. Some people consider this laziness. I don’t. It is just living deliberately, enjoying every moment, and trying to keep spirits high. Sarajevans call this sabur.
